Description Testing patient's serum for indications of retinal hypersensitivity requires access to the antigens involved, usually obtained from an extract of human retina. However, human eyes have been increasingly difficult to obtain. We therefore looked for a more dependable source of retina and optic nerve by evaluating pig ocular tissues, which are readily acquired from commercial sources.
