Description |
The LGN is the principal thalamic visual center linking the retina and the visual cortical areas V1 and to a lesser extent V2. Each LGN is an oval structure situated in the posterior thalamus, below and lateral to the pulvinar. There is considerable variability in the structure of the LGN, which is also true for the striate cortex. |
