Description Phillip Bimstein talks about his six-year board service with Utah Humanities Council, from 1998 to 2004, including as chair. He talks about the impact of a Utah Humanities' program "Embracing Opposites," organized by Louise Excell, with the intention of easing tension in the Springdale, Utah, community divided by rapid growth. Bimstein later served as the mayor of Springdale. He also spoke about music and his compositions, including "Red Rock Rondo's [Zion Canyon Song Cycle], which celebrates the history and contemporary life of Zion National Park and folks from Springdale, Utah. He also shared about his popular humanities courses at the University of Utah.
