Description |
Lucin Cut-Off: Original line of the Union Pacific Railroad circumvented the Great Salt Lake and was built north out of Ogden, Utah to join the Central Pacific Railroad at Promontory, Utah, then south again to Lucin. In order to shorten the route and by-pass the mountain grades of the original route, the Ogden-Lucin Cut-Off was built in 1902-1903, passing directly across the Great Salt Lake.
