Description |
Pictures 1 through 22 are a series showing the reconstruction of the old Salt Lake City Hall to the new location across the street south from the State Capitol. The new official name now given to this beautiful structure is the COUNCIL HALL, not to be confused with the old Council House that stood until 1883 on the southwest corner of Main and South Temple Streets. The old City Hall, which up until recently was being used as part of the Salt Lake City Fire Department, was located on First South between State and Second East Streets. These snapshots were taken by Bruce Phillips (U.S.H.S.) 1963. |
