Junior Alissa Atisme captured the 400-meter event title at the Cal State LA Twilight. Getting the meet underway was Atisme in the 400. Atisme recorded a time of 55.60 seconds to earn first overall. Sophomore Mesa Weidle accompanied Atisme in the event, claiming 14th overall with a time of 59.55 seconds. The 400-meter hurdles featured junior Christine Van Brocklin placing second overall with a personal-best time 1:00.54. The momentum continued into the jumping events. True freshman Lauren McCluskey earned fifth in the high jump after clearing a height of 5 feet, 3 inches. McCluskey returned to compete in the long jump, earning 20th with a jump measuring 15 feet, 10.5 inches. Madison Lanford also competed in the long jump, placing 18th (15'11.73"). Junior Courtney Jost earned 11th in the triple jump with a jump of 35 feet, 11 inches. Lanford and McCluskey returned to represent Utah in the 100-meter hurdles. Lanford placed ninth with a personal-best time of 15.00 seconds, followed by McCluskey in 18th with a time of 16.16 seconds. Sophomore Raynee Helm finished 23rd overall in the 100-meter dash, recording a time of 12.83 seconds. |
