True freshman Kaitlin Urmston caught the spot with her school-record performance in the javelin throw. In her second collegiate meet, Urmston set a new school record in the javelin. Urmston recorded a mark of 150-1.50 feet on her second to last throw putting her name on top of the Utah record book. The shot put featured the Utes capturing the top-three spots. Candus Aiello set a new personal-best throw of 46-11.0 feet earning her first place overall. Alanna Nulph claimed second place recording a mark of 46-1.50 feet. Junior Nikkie Rudder finished third overall with a throw of 45-11.25 feet, respectively for the Utes. Alyssa Johnson led the Utes in a dominating performance during the 400m hurdles. Six Utah hurdlers finished in the top-10 overall places, which included a sweep of the top-three spots. Johnson led the way clocking a first-place time of 1:01.21. Junior Stephanie Jolley finished right on Johnson's heels with a time of 1:01.22 earning second place. Rosalie Griffin rounded out the top three finishers with a third place time of 1:02.55. Finishing fifth overall with a time of 1:04.45 was Kayla McMurray. Senior Elise McVicar (1:04.77) and Lisa Palomaki (1:05.61) earned sixth and eighth place, respectively. Junior Angela Kaplar won the 100m hurdles event title for the second consecutive year. Kaplar clocked a season-best time of 13.98 finishing first overall. Brianna LeRoy crossed the line third with a time of 14.60 for the Utes. The 4x400m relay showcased the Utes finishing third and sixth overall. Competing with two substitutes, the Utah A' team ran very well to finish third overall. The Utah A' squad clocked a combined time of 3:47.56. Earning sixth place was the Utah B' squad with a time of 4:00.60. |
