Monsters in medieval and renaissance travel literature: a study in Credulity and skepticism

This study of monster tales will point out certain elements of credulity and skepticism in the Middle Ages and Renaissance by demonstrating the existence of a Medieval-Renaissance monster cycle which is governed by credulity and skepticism, and by presenting a study of the reception of these monster tales within each period.
