Description |
Narrow gauge car 163 belonged to the Rio Grande and was used to haul fresh foodstuffs, meat and items that could not be frozen. Cars of this type were cooled by ice in bunkers at each end of the car. "Reefer" cars were used in the 1880s and after by the railroads. |
