Abstract Kamahauoha (b. 1983) was born in Kahuku, Hawaii. Her father grew up in California, Idaho, and Utah, and her mother was raised in Utah. They met at a school dance and moved to Hawaii to attend the University of Hawaii. Her mother became an RN and her father became an entrepreneur. Michelle grew up in Hawaii and moved to Utah to attend BYU. She recalls growing up in Hawaii, rebelling as an adolescent, Mormon culture in Hawaii, and being white in Hawaii.
