Barnett's Variety Store

The Quality Shop was owned by Lucy Rackham, who later married Richard (Dicky) Jensen. By 1943, the Quality Shop had moved into the building that was previously occupied by the Calder Beauty Shop. The building that is in the photo is divided into two stores: The Quality Shop and Alice's Dress Shop. By 1950 the store had been purchases by Onel (Barney) and Evelyn Barnett. By 1957 they had remodeled the store and acquired both spaces to expand the size of their store. A new awning was added in January of 1951. This store was known as the Barnett Variety Store for many years and many called it the "Dime Store."
