Description |
Sleep is a dynamic component of human health and well-being. Consistent with research in acutely hospitalized ill patients, our initial data collection has shown suboptimal to poor sleep in SCI patients in the IMR setting. Brainstorming with hospital staff identified milieu factors as well as patient specific needs associated with sleep deprivation. Therefore, the next phase of the CQI cycle will be to implement a two part proposed solution: (1) a campaign to reduce noise at night; (2) a patient centered nighttime preferences plan will be posted on the door of patients' rooms to be edited and facilitated by all clinical staff. Future CQI cycles will be based on the analysis of this intervention. |
