Audio recording of the Glen Canyon Dam Crack Ceremony, done by Edward Abbey and the environmental activist group Earth First! They unrolled a gigantic sheet of black plastic to simulate a crack in the Glen Canyon Dam and gathered in Page, Arizona, to listen to Abbey's speech. The speech criticizes industrial development in the American West, the blockage of the Colorado River, and the flooding of canyons done by the dam. |
