Creator Dell'Osso, LF; Williams, RW; Jacobs, JB; Erchul, DM
Subject Achiasmatic Mutants; Nystagmus Waveform Study; Congenital Nystagmus; Belgian Sheepdog Study
Description We developed improved methods for recording the eye movements of Belgian Sheepdogs, including achiasmatic mutants, to study the mutants' nystagmus waveforms and compare them to those of humans with congenital nystagmus (CN). A sling apparatus with head restraints was constructed to immobilize the dogs' heads. Eye movements were recorded using infrared reflection with either earth- or head-mounted sensors.
