| Description |
In the majority of cases of Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy (LHON), the only clinical manifestation is visual loss. In rare cases, however, a multiple sclerosis (MS)-like illness occurs concurrently, with most of the patients being women harboring the 11778 mutation. Clinical and paraclinical evidence in the majority of these cases is consistent with a demyelinating process. |
