Description Pembrolizumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody that inhibits programmed cell death-1 (PD-1) pathway resulting in an enhanced immune response. Currently, pembrolizumab is an approved treatment for cutaneous melanoma. Very few patients (<1%) on pembrolizumab develop ocular complications. Complications are immune mediated and include uveitis, papillitis, and ocular myositis. In these cases, cessation of pembrolizumab with or without the addition of steroids generally improves symptoms.
