Description |
Rotary snow plow O.M. is a narrow gauge piece of equipment used to clear deep snow from the railroad tracks. The rotary wheel is steam powered from a boiler within the car body, but the equipment is not self-powered. It must be pushed by one or more locomotives. The Rio Grande had four plows of this type. Interestingly enough, this could also be used on standard gauge by changing the wheels, as the tracks could hold wheel sets of either gauge. |
