Denver and Rio Grande Western RR kitchen / diner / sleeper car X-3272 at Roper Yards, South Salt Lake City in 1962. Car used on Salt Lake "wreck train" for housing and feeding crews during derailments. The car was originally built in 1910 as a diner by Barney & Smith Company. Leased by the D & RG to Western Pacific for use on its new line. Re-named as Mt. Nebo when car returned to D & RG. Rebuilt and re-numbered X-3272 in 1945. Photographer / Donor: Mike B. Davis. |
