Ali Eisenbeiss led the Utah track and field team at the San Diego Aztec Invitational on Saturday, as she captured the event title in the 800-meter invitational. Eisenbeiss recorded a time of 2:07.58 to inch out the second overall finisher by almost two seconds. Junior Grace Englund also competed well, just missing her personal best with a time of 2:10.89 to earn fourth. Junior Alissa Atisme represented the Utes in the 100 and 200-meter dash invitational. Atisme captured tenth in the 100 with a time of 12.11 seconds and 16th in the 200 in 24.86 seconds. In the 400-meter hurdles, Christine Van Brocklin's just missed setting her lifetime best, with a time of 1:00.63 for fourth. Accompanying Van Brocklin was Madison Lanford, earning eighth in 1:03.64. Senior Allison Aafedt led the way for Utah in the 400-meter invitational. Aafedt placed 11th after recording a time of 57.37 seconds. Mesa Weidle also competed, earning 17th in 58.57 seconds. The high jump featured Eliza Hansen placing 12th overall after clearing a height of 5 feet, 1 inch. The last event of the day featured Utah competing in the 4x400-meter relay. The relay comprised of Van Brocklin, Caitie Faust, Aafedt and Eisenbeiss captured second overall with a time of 3:48.56. |
