Led by Amanda Mergaert's seventh-place finish, the University of Utah women's cross country team ran to a fifth-place overall finish at the six-kilometer Mountain West Conference Championships. Mergaert earned seventh-place, posting a time of 22:06.1. Mergaert has been Utah's leading runner in all four meets that she has competed in this season. She improved on her time from last year's MWC Championships by 47 seconds. Mergaert's effort this season earned her First-Team All-MWC honors and she became only the third runner from Utah to accomplish this feat since Utah joined the MWC. |
