Description Looking north down across Coyote Basin from the Stanton truck road at the new development hoists on the cowboy vein. The new California Co. pipe line from the Rangely Oil fields passes near this point and practically parallels the Cowboy vein throughout its length. If the present experiments prove successful much of this low grade Gilsonite will be mined cheaply by open-pit method, finely ground, dissolved in oil and ejected into the pipe line and pumped to Salt Lake City where it will end up as thick road oil and petroleum coke.
