Eccles, a member of the Federal Reserve System's Board of Governors, before the 27th annual convention of the Iowa Bankers Association in Des Moines, Iowa, on 27 October 1948, and a "corrected copy" of the same speech (11 pages). The speech, entitled "our economic dilemma," spoke of the need to avoid both inflation and deflation by measures to stabilize the economy. Also a list of those to whom a copy of the speech was sent, and two versions of transcripts of Mr. Eccles's opening remarks prior to the speech.
