Since the discovery of gold in the year 1868 in the Ohio district, Piute County, the mining districts in Marysvale region have attracted increasing attention. The discovery of "pink spar" or alunite in 1910 gave further stimulus to the mining industry of Marysvale. With the discovery of uranium ore in 1949 the Bullion Monarch mine, Marysvale has again become active. |
