Subject |
Viliuisk Encephalomyelitis; Cause |
Description |
The cause of VE is unknown. The occurrence of multiple cases in households and the introduction of the disease by migrants into new populations indicate horizontal transmission in a setting of long, intimate contact. In addition, both the clinical manifestations and the neuropathologic findings suggest an infectious cause. |
