Description A new structural building system (Plattforms) was investigated at the University of Utah. The system was analyzed to determine capacity, behavior, and residual strength. Three short span specimens of the system were tested to failure. This thesis addresses the layout of the test specimens as well as their performance under gravity type loading up to ultimate conditions. The thesis also presents a strut and tie method of analysis that may be useful in the development and design of current and new versions of the plattforms building system. The building system offers a prefabricated product to compete with the conventional concrete deck over steel beam floor systems available for construction and design.
