Description |
Black and white daylight exterior photograph from 1944 show Navajo women and children sitting in the shade outside the trading post. A man is lying on the ground with his hat over his head. The women are tending to the children. Two outbuildings can also be seen in the photograph. The Gouldings (Harry and Leone, his wife) completed construction of the trading post in 1928. They lived in an apartment on the second floor. The Gouldings traded with the Navajo starting in 1921, and operated out of a tent prior to the construction of the stone building |
