RESULTS IN MT. SAC AND POMONA: Katherina Gallahar and Chantel Goldsberry threw the hammer at Mt. SAC and the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational. Gallahar threw 173' 0" at Mt. SAC, and placed 17th at Pomona with a throw of 178' 0". Goldsberry threw 165' 0" at Mt. SAC, and 175' 0" to earn 19th place at Pomona. Mindy Wilder also threw at two different meets. She placed ninth in her heat in the javelin with a throw of 128' 0" at Mt. SAC, and 10th with a throw of 143' 0" at Pomona. Elisha Kekacs broke her own school record by a half of a second in the 400 meter-hurdles with a time of 60.90 and placed first in her heat at Pomona. She also ran the 100 meter-hurdles in 14.36 and finished second in her heat. Senior Johanna Nielsen set a new stadium record at the Strehle Track and Field Complex in the 10,000 meters at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational in Claremont, Calif. In her first 10,000 meter race ever, her time of 35 minutes, 36.50 seconds was just six seconds off the national qualifying mark. She placed 13th in the men's and women's combined race and was the first female to cross the finish line. Lion Gallegos placed second running the 10,000 meters in 31:59.04 and Phil Stoddard was third with a time of 32: 02.00. |
