Blue Mountain--Cowboys--Cattle--Branding |
Description |
Each year men rounded up the cattle and corralled them for branding. There were ropers, flankers, and several hundred head of cattle. The calves were snaked from the herd to be branded and vaccinated. Victor Karren on the horse is overseeing the branding while families participate in the branding. Note the women are helping with the branding. At noon a big picnic was held by the spring in the green meadow grass around the house. Beer and soda pop was put in the nearby stream to keep cold. |
