LEEK SALLY NELSON Recent Paintings The artist is a native of Salt Lake City where he went through the public schools. He continued his education at the Art Institute of Chicago, University of Chicago, Brigham Young University, University of California at Los Angeles and University of Iowa. Thomas A. Leek is currently an associate professor of art and curator of the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery, Southern Utah State College, Cedar City. The artist is a regular exhibitor in state, regional and national invitational and juried exhibitions. Aqueous and mixed media have dominated his work in recent years. He has received numerous awards, and his works are in public and private collections throughout the country. Recent Sculpture A native of Connecticut, the artist attended Wellesley College in Massachusetts and then the School of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and Tufts University. She has lived in Salt Lake City since 1967. Sally Nelson is currently a member of the Salt Lake Art Center faculty and has served as a visiting instructor at Westminster College. She also conducts workshops in welding. The artist has exhibited her work often in Salt Lake City, as well as in Boston, San Francisco, Aspen, and New York. She has been honored with seven awards including a purchase award at the Springville National Art Exhibition in 1975. Her works are in several private collections.
