Description The natural world is filled with hundreds of networks and interconnecting channels between different species and organisms. Throughout history, humans have utilized story-telling, mythologies, allegories, and holistic traditions to examine the human condition and our relationsip to nature. This work uses craft as a vehicle to connect the natural world and humanity to reconnect, learn, heal and grow. Using craft, primarily weaving practices, this work is a partnership between myself and the natural world material, to build practices to strengthen my connection to the natural world. As viewers interact with this work the hope is that you start to strengthen the desire to reconnect with the world around you. To connect regularly with the natural world, yourself, and the communities you inhabit. This photo includes all pieces of the "Woven Worlds" MFA exhibition, with "Willow Wide Web" in the foreground, "Nostalgic Nests" in the mid ground, "Fresh Start" in the background, and "Aspis" the furthest back.
