The following is my attempt to form words into vehicles for communication. From July to December of 1984, I had the opportunity to live and study in London, England and travel throughout Europe and the Middle East. During my sojourn abroad, I kept a record of my experiences. The journal with which I was left after my return to America has become, for me, a valuable text. It is evidence that for a time, several foreign countries of the world were my university and their traditions, establishments and people were my professors and classmates. The following reflections come directly from that journal but have been amended and revised in an attempt to present a more refined product. |
