The photograph on the left was a memorial in the 1940 Uintah High School yearbook of student Rose Butcher, who died in August 1939 at the age of sixteen. The cause of her death was complications arising because of a ruptured appendix. She was born on June 27, 1923 in Jensen. She was the daughter of Jasper O. and Julina Dudley Butcher. The photograph on the right was a memorial of Uintah Junior High and Vernal Central elementary school student Lyle Johnson, who died in June of 1939 at the age of fourteen. He was electrocuted while working at the Burlington Bus Station at 30 East on Main Street. He was born on February 9, 1925 in Vernal, Utah. His parents were J. Emery and Hattie Pope Johnson. In the year before he died, he had been in charge of the movie camera machine for all the shows at Uintah High School. Both of the aforementioned photographs are located on page 7 of the physical yearbook. |
