Description |
The clinical presentation ofan aneurysm is related to its location. In the section that follows, we discuss the clinical manifestations of unruptured aneurysms that originate from the carotid and vertebrobasilar arterial systems. It should be noted that it is often impossible to identify a single artery of origin of a saccular aneurysm because most of these lesions arise at the junction of two arteries. Therefore, we identify as originating from a specific artery only those aneurysms that arise from a nonjunctional location. All other aneurysms are designated as originating from a specific junctional location, for example, the junction between the internal carotid and ophthalmic arteries (carotid-ophthalmic artery aneurysms). |
