Description |
Studio group portrait of Charles S. Stobie, Indian scout and western artist and North American Indian men, Wanzito or Antelope (White River Ute) and Chief Piah (Middle Park Ute). The men sit in front of a painted backdrop, Stobie has long hair and wears a large brimmed hat, jacket and leather boots. He holds the hand of Chief Piah and has his arm around his shoulders. Piah has his hair in braids and wears a jacket, shirt and pants; he has a peace medal suspended from a wide ribbon around his neck and holds a large, wide brimmed hat. Antelope has his hair in braids and wears a hair pipe choker around his neck. He has on a shirt, jacket and pants, a beaded sash across his chest and wears a beaded necklace or neck piece. He has a beaded pouch at his waist and holds his hat on.; his knee. |
