Description |
This is Utoco's latest steam generating equipment with the catalytic cracking unit immediately behind it. The new boiler uses for fuel the carbon monoxide in the catalytic cracking unit's flue gas. The steam generator produces 138, 000 pounds of steam per hour, roughly 30 percent of the refinery's current steam requirements. Utilization of the carbon monoxide in the waster flue gas is saving Utoco about 300 barrels of heavy fuel oil per day. The new boiler has made possible the permanent retirement of absolute steam generating equipment built in 1918. June 1958 |
