Description |
Men and boys gather at the fairgrounds for a livedstock show. Here they are judging horses. The fairgrounds were built southeast of Vernal at about 300 EAst 200 South. The round building shown, housed fair exhibits as well as the dinosaur fossil exhibits from Dinosaur Quarry. The fairgrounds have remained in this location but have made many improvements over the years. A grandstand was built for large crowds to enjoy horse races and rodeos. The Vernal Rodeo, nosaur Roundup Rodeo, became a big event in the community. In 1948 the livestock show building replaced the round exhibit building becoming the home of the Junior Livestock Show. |
