Description |
This huge electric shovel operated at Iron Mountain, Utah, scoops up a 2.5 cubic yard bite of raw iron ore and dumps it into a waiting 25-ton truck. The ore is next taken to the crusher where it is crushed & screened for delivery to waiting railroad cars. The ore will then be dispatched to Columbia Steel Co.'s Blast Furnace at Provo, Utah, for smelting into pig iron. Utah Writer's Project. |
