Old barn on David Powell's farm located at 5918 South 700 West

This barn was a landmark on 7th West in Murray. It was part of a farm belonging to David M. Powell. It was probably part of the original Maxfield Estate. The farm was deeded to his youngest son, Alma in 1936. Alma and Anna Powell sold the farm to Cecil Jones in 1945. The old barn contained stalls where cows were milked and a stable for the work horses. The hay loft went the full length of the barn. The lean-to on the side of the barn was where the farm equipment and machinery were stored. It is all ow demolished c. 1960.
