Description |
7646 Present appearance of the house in which John D. Lee was captured, Panguitch, Utah. (1935). He was taken in the pen in the yard. The original old house is the log part. The siding-constructed room has been added recently. Note that Marshal Stokes said Fish was watching a rifle barrel poked out of an upper window. There is no upper window in either end now; it may be that with the addition to the house the former 'loft' of upper story part was taken off. Mr. Leonard Sargent, informant, said the pen in which Lee was captured that morning used to be in the rear, about half way to the next house. Caught there concealed under the straw. From the Frank A. Beckwith Collection. (Photographer) Presented by Charles Kelly. |
