Description |
Small community of Hite, established by Cass Hite in the 1880s when he came prospecting for gold, arriving in the area in the 1870s. A small ferry service was operated across the Colorado River but was discontinued when Glen Canyon Dam was constructed. Hite is now under Lake Powell. |
