Description |
Ariel view of Vernal and airport. In 1920 the first airplane landed in Uintah County. September 29, 1929, the first trip from Vernal to Salt Lake City took seventy-nine minutes by airplane. The present Vernal airport was completed in June 1945 at a cost of $9,375 and had several improvements, including paving and lighting the two-mile-long runways, hangars, and other facilities. |
