Show Call for Papers American Flame Research Committee Annual Meeting* Officer's Club, University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah September 5-‐7, 2012 The American Flame Research Committee is soliciting papers from oil & gas companies, hydrocarbon processing companies, industrial users, utilities, power generation companies, E&C's, OEM's, universities, state and federal regulators, government & non-‐governmental research organizations, public interest groups and other entities having an interest in the design, operation, supply, permitting and regulation of applied combustion equipment. The intent of the symposium will be to address the impacts of retrofitting, revamping and the remodeling of all fired equipment, including burners, furnaces, boilers, flares, thermal oxidizers, gas turbines and other fired equipment related plants, from old or current technology to the latest or next generation technologies and how the configuration or modification may or may not impact the operational or environmental control philosophies of these units. Three focused colloquia are being organized at this meeting: • Flares o Session chair: James Seebold-Chevron (retired) • Burners/Furnaces o Session chair: Roberto Ruiz-OnQuest, Inc. • Power Generation o Session chair: Larry Bool-‐-‐Praxair -‐An additional session on general combustion topics will be organized by Philip J. Smith from the University of Utah. If you would like to present a paper or poster at the meeting, please submit an abstract of no greater than 250 words to Catrina Wilson (catrina.wilson@utah.edu) no later than May 1, 2012. Early submissions are strongly encouraged!! Authors will be notified by July 1st regarding acceptance of papers with a draft agenda being available mid-‐July 2012.
