Description |
The nation's newest intercontinental ballistic missile, the Air Force Minuteman ICBM, stands on its launching pad at the Atlantic Missile Range, Cape Canaveral, Fla. The three-stage solid fueled ICBM, carrying a dummy warhead for ballast, is powered by a first-stage engine produced by Thiokol Chemical Corporation. A service tower stands at right, and the beehive shaped blockhouse which houses the control center can be seen in the background. Neg. No. 21830 November 15, 1960.
