Description |
The No-Ni-Shee archway, a unique, temporary, man-made archway near the intersection of Main Street and South Temple. The archway was built for the Wizard of the Wasatch celebration. No-Ni-Shee was the name of a mythical American Indian Salt Princess. It was believed that her tears caused the Great Salt Lake to be salty. This 1916 arch was dedicated to her and sprayed with salt water so that it eventually crystallized on Main Street. |
