Subject |
Chiasmic Optic Nerve Hypoplasia |
Description |
Congenital lesions of the retina, optic nerve, chiasm, tract, or retrogeniculate pathways are associated with segmental hypoplasia of the corresponding portions of each optic nerve (149,150). Hoyt et al. (151) coined the term ‘‘homonymous hemioptic hypoplasia'' to describe the asymmetric form of segmental optic nerve hypoplasia seen in patients with unilateral congenital hemispheric lesions affecting the postchiasmal afferent visual pathways. |
