Description The location of a meningioma determines its clinical presentation. Familiarity with presenting signs and symptoms is important, not only because they are often of neuro-ophthalmologic interest, but also because meningiomas are generally benign and thus can often be successfully treated if the diagnosis is made early. The specific sites of involvement are discussed in alphabetical order. Cavernous sinus meningiomas. Convexity meningiomas. Falx and parasagittal meningiomas. Middle cranial fossa meningiomas. Olfactory groove meningiomas. Optic nerve sheath meningiomas. Optic nerve sheath meningiomas, primary. Optic nerve sheath meningiomas, secondary. Orbital meningiomas. Posterior fossa meningiomas. Cerebellopontine angle meningiomas. Meningiomas of the clivus. Meningiomas in the foramen magnum. Meningiomas of the fourth ventricle. Meningiomas of the tentorium cerebelli. Sphenoid wing meningiomas. Meningiomas arising from the outer sphenoid wing and pterion. Meningiomas arising from the middle third of the sphenoid wing. Meningiomas arising from the inner sphenoid wing. Tuberculum sellae (suprasellar) meningiomas. Ventricular (lateral and third) meningiomas.
