Guide to the Westminster College Vice-President of College Relations Office. Westminster Information Management Project (WIMP) minutes

This collection consists of memoranda and minutes of the Westminster College Information Management Project (commonly known as WIMP) meetings, dating 1985-1986. WIMP was organized by the Vice-President of College Relations to oversee the computerization of the Westminster College campus in Salt Lake City, Utah. The minutes include the meeting date, names of attendees and those absent, and a summary of discussions. The minutes contain considerable technical jargon and acronyms. Discussions concern the purchase of hardware, installation of software, status of individual projects, and any problems being experience.

It appears that the committee started prior to 1985 and continued after 1986 and that the minutes in this collection are the personal copies of the group's recording secretary, Craig A. Green. Steve Morgan attended 1985 meetings, and informational copies of the minutes were distributed to President Petersen, Academic Vice-President Kuuisto, and D. Tumpowsky in the Public Relations Office.

Topics included discussion of Datatel training, terminals, code and system files. Datatel modules were installed for registration, accounts, personnel, purchasing, and admissions. Other vendors and products discussed were the Colleague system, C-Itoh, Diablo laser printers, and Moore Data Systems.
