Description |
In this letter, wrote to Brigham Young to discuss the response that local Indians had to rumours that Mormons in Salt Lake Valley were killing off the tribes surrounding Salt Lake. Maughan suggested that Salt Lake Valley Mormon retribution occured because of Indian hostilities, and encouraged Indians in Northern Utah to remain peaceful and to avoid these events from unfolding. |
