The competition was not scored as a team format but rather was a chance for individuals to showcase their talent. All-American senior Jeff Simonich (2:27.76) won the men's 1,000 meter event. Travis Hildebrand (15:11.83) and Dane Miller (15:14.04) finishing seventh and eighth respectively in the 5,000 meters. Erik Vernon (4:27.28) placed 10th in the one mile run. For the women, junior Amy Tidwell (41.73) had an eighth place finish in the 300 meter event while freshman Erika Floyd (5:22.39) turned in a ninth place finish in the mile run. In the 60 meter hurdles, junior Elisha Kekacs placed 10th with a time of 9.29. Also turning in top ten performances was freshman Catherine Scalley with an eighth place finish in the long jump (16'09.50") and sophomore Chantel Goldsberry with a seventh place finish in the weight throw (50'08.50"). In the triple jump, Utah's best performer was senior Stacey Rhineer placing second (38'.09.75"). |
