Description |
P577-400-744A Bridges Dedication - Glen Canyon Field Division - Utah-Arizona. In the ceremonies held on the deck of this, the Colorado Bridge, three bridges were officially opened allowing traffic to cross spectacular canyons at the upper end of Lake Powell. The crowd of people who came to view the event may be seen gathering around the speaker's stand at the center of the span. Secretary of the Interior, Stuart L. Udall, delivered the dedicatory address following an introduction by Utah's Governor, Calvin L. Rampton. The other bridges dedicated were the Dirty Devil River Bridge, about half a mile from this bridge, and the White Canyon Bridge, several miles to the south.
